Top 3 Places for Student Travel

By Kylie Exline on January 31, 2017

Throughout our college careers, we tend to have this need for wanderlust: the desire to want to travel. For many, studying abroad will suffice, but for others, we want to have free reign. You know, awake when we want, separate excursions, and not having to pass classes.

There are hundreds of interesting and beautiful places to visit around the world, including your own country. To discover my idea of the top places to travel to, read below.

Great Barrier Reef

Located in northeastern Australia, the Great Barrier Reef is known for being the largest living thing on Earth. Its ecosystem contains thousands of reefs and islands and holds over 600 types of coral. I know, hard to believe.

You should visit here given this beautiful site, but also because there is so much more to see. There is the Outback where you can spot kangaroos and duck-billed platypuses (yes, they are indeed real). Then you have the Sydney Opera House, which is one of the 20th century’s most famous buildings due to its history and architecture.

And let us not forget that this is Australia we are talking about. Say hello to gorgeous people with gorgeous accents. Plus, being a student has its perks because you can find random discounts so make sure to keep your ID handy.

Bora Bora

This notorious island is found off of Tahiti in French Polynesia. Though also known for its reef and scuba diving, there is an entire country to view. And they have bungalows, which is not something we tend to see on the reg.

The turquoise lagoon is obviously jaw-dropping, as is the fact that you are visiting a place that is on thousands of people’s bucket lists. Consider yourself both lucky and cool.

I think that students everywhere would appreciate the true beauty of this island given we desire to visit locations that offer both history and scenery. Plus, we can always go for some amazing weather, amIright?

Florence

Although this is a popular study abroad location, it is still necessary to visit. Italy is known for many things, including its language, culture, food, and history. And the list surely goes on. Regardless if you are there to learn or to experience their lifestyle, you will find yourself striving to soak in as much of the country as you can.

There are popular tourist sites of course, but then there are the places that are more on the low. You know, the shopping centers, marketplaces, and remote private locations. Honestly, “bored” is the last thing any student would be here. Promise.

Florence and Italy, in general, are great to visit because although you will be learning along the way, you will also be experiencing a whole lot of fun. There are the cafes, bars, and, of course, all of the vino your heart desires.

Traveling for fun is always great when you are not being completely forced to learn the entire time. We all love our party moments, especially when we are in another country visiting. There is much to do but even more when you actually arrive there.

Considering you are a student, it will be innate for you to learn as much as you can, but it is also vital that you experience all of their cultures. And when in doubt, keep in mind that you are just a visitor so it does not have to be permanent. However, let us hope that you never want to move back from there because you love it.
